In our last blog, we spoke about getting a free copy of your credit report. So now you're probably thinking... Now That I Have My Credit Report, What's Next?!?!

Start by reviewing the credit report and start looking for any inaccuracies. Often times, the information on your report can be inaccurate and need updating. We included a link to a helpful PDF document that was put together by the Federal Trade Commission.

It includes the exact steps needed to get the credit report agency to remove inaccuracies.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, both the credit reporting company and the information provider (that is, the person, company, or organization that provides information about you to a credit reporting company) are responsible for correcting inaccurate or incomplete information in your report. To take advantage of all your rights under this law, contact the credit reporting company and the information provider.
